Acting Classes

Learn from the best while having fun!
 
Our acting and musical classes provide students the opportunity to develop their self-confidence, communication as well as acting skills. As they build these skills they grow in their level of artistry in these stimulating and fun-filled classes taught by experienced professional teachers.

Weekly Acting Classes

1 Hour Class:

Creative Drama – Beginning acting class forAges 6-8

This course is designed to introduce younger children to the world of theater and performing through the use of games, activities, and creative play. Students learn how to work and play together to put on a performance in which everyone plays an important part.

Mondays 5:30 – 6:25 pm

Tuition $ 200 for Fall Semester (13 classes)

$ 260 for Spring Semester (17 classes)

This payment option saves you $40 per semester

Tuition can also be paid in monthly installments of $60

There is a once per year, once per family Applause registration fee of $35

Instructor: Katy Lee - Katy is an elementary school teacher with Cy-Fair ISD.  She holds a B.S. in Education and has extensive theatre experience.

 

1 ½ Hour Classes:

Adventures in Acting –Stage acting fundamentals for students in grades 3 thru 5
Tuesdays 5:30 – 6:55 pm

This course is designed as an introduction to the theater and acting by teaching the basic environment and tools of the actor and how to use them.

This course is in two parts. The fall semester is an introduction to the basics of theater, acting, auditioning, body and voice, imagination and experience, script, character history and characterization, performing and developing related skills. This development is reinforced during the spring semester where the students utilize skills learned during the fall in a final performance.

 

Acting for Teens - For students in Grades 6 thru 12
Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:25 pm

This course is designed as a flexible acting class for teenagers. Its structure is flexible because it will require the assessment of the instructor in order to teach to the abilities and experiences of the students. Study will focus on basic stage direction, scene study, monologues, characterization and performance.

This course is in two parts. The fall semester will concentrate on basic stage direction, scene study, monologues, characterization and performing and developing related skills. This development is reinforced during the spring semester where the students utilize skills learned during the fall in a final performance.

Tuesday classes:
Instructor: Craig Lee - Craig is the artistic director of Applause Theatre Company.  He holds an MFA in Performance and has extensive experience in directing and instructing youth theatre.

 

Broadway Kids – Musical theatre class for students in Grades 3 thru 5
Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:55 pm

This course is designed as an introduction to acting, dance and voice by teaching the basic environment and tools of the triple threat performer and how to use them.

This course is in two parts. The fall semester is an introduction to the basics of acting, dance, vocal skills, music theory, characterization in musical theater, theater vocabulary and performing and developing related skills. This development is reinforced during the spring semester where the students utilize skills learned during the fall in a final performance.

 

Musical Theatre for Teens - For students in Grades 6 thru 12
Wednesday 7:00 – 8:25 pm

This course is designed as a flexible class in acting, dance and voice for teenagers, teaching the basic environment and tools of the triple threat performer and how to use them. Its structure is flexible because it will require the assessment of the instructor in order to teach to the

At the discretion of the artistic director, 3rd to 5th grade students may be enrolled in this class if they have sufficient musical theatre experience.

Tuition $ 290 for Fall Semester (13 classes)

Wednesday classes:
Instructor: Paula Spencer - Paula holds degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education.  She has been the artistic director of Joyful Sound Homeschool Choir for over 14 years.
